 Google’s Chromium Projects released a slew of Chrome OS Tablet Concept mockups today—and even snuck in a video. Creepy as those two ghostly hands may be, this quick video demonstrates some of the things one would do with Google’s Chrome OS Tablet. The video features the touch interaction with the screen, how to overlay tabs, and the zooming UI feature for multiple tabs. Mind you, this tablet is just a concept and Google is still working out the details for a Chrome OS multitouch-capable tablet—but even in the brevity of the video it’s looking pretty cool.

In a roundabout sort of way,  Facebook  tattled on itself earlier in the summer when, in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), it  fessed up to the fact  that nearly 9 percent of the social networking site's accounts are fake, bogus, the unreal McCoy. Soon, smartphone app to open car doors

Researchers have developed a new software that makes the technology of opening car and home doors using smartphoneapps more secure and versatile. Researchers from the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology SIT in Darmstadt, Germany, will be demonstrating their ShareKey software, a solution to popularise the method. "In essence, ShareKey offers two new functions: users can issue digital keys remotely and assign these keys certain user permissions. For instance, I can grant the building superintendent access to my apartment for a short period so that he can open the door for the gas metre to be read while I'm at work," said Alexandra Dmitrienko from the SIT. "The solution is built around modern security technologies and can be easily integrated into existing access control systems," Dmitrienko said in a statement. Apple has had a few problems with its latest iPhone and  iPad software update . Released just last month, iOS 6.1 was meant to be a relatively significant update bringing enhanced Siri capabilities, LTE support to more countries, and more iTunes Match features. But it seems as if the update is doing more harm than good. The Verge reports that a new bug, "lets anyone bypass your iPhone password lock and access your  phone app , view or modify contacts, check your  voicemail, and look through your photos (by attempting to add a photo to a contact)." The instructions are pretty simple. First you have to pretend to turn the phone off, then make an aborted  emergency call , then a quick bit of off button and cancel pressing. That boots you into the full  phone app  where you can pretty much call or  message  anyone you like, or edit phone contacts.
