Contemporary Gadgets in Traditional Materials: Porcelain Top Secret USB
Gadgets are all about contemporary cool, but they can also blend traditional crafts in an exquisite manner, as typified by the Top Secret Original USB by Robert Hermes and Marlies Romberg, made in porcelain. The delicately immaculate device is available in 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB formats and prices start at EUR34.95. The two Dutch designer authors also adorned the memory stick with a red wax seal which bears the letters T and S, short for Top Secret. There is a clear connection between concept and material with this gadget, since, say the designers, “Personal information is fragile! So handle with care.”
